Why should you join? If you are a performer,
venue or promoter,
you get exposure in the lists of members and on the events
pages. If you are a business,
you get exposure in the lists of members. If you don't have your own
web page, for a nominal fee you can have one here where you will get
exposure. You get to be part of a network of industry-related really
nice people and the nominal fee is tax-deductable. And, the folks who
read this site are your target audience.
Here are some of the benefits that AcousticByLines.com offers:
- Lists of members are sorted by category (blues, cowboy, folk, store,
teacher, variety, etc.). Members may be listed in all categories that
apply (teacher, song-writer, blues, Irish, etc.)—whatever the
member wants.
- There is a master events
list and individual event lists, a monthly guest column
for any members who wants to write one, a bulletin
page for non-commercial postings, and an awards
page. Additional features will be added by members requests.
- There will be a minimum of 50 weekly updates each year, and more
as time allows. The site is kept current.
- The site has been and will continue to be advertised to improve
its presence.
- Gig and promo ops will be shared with the members who want to receive
this info via an e-mail list that will not be available to anyone
else.
- Each member may have 1 separate page on the site, if requested.
That page will include photos, contact information, description (bio
or business description), logo, info about recordings (for performers)
or business highlights (instruments made/sold), links to existing
web site, links to CDBaby
for online CD sales—whatever the member wants, within reason.

page.)
- If you have your own web page, links to that site from this site
will help you with search engine placement.
- Short music
clips for non-licensed / original material may be added to individual
web sites and to the master music
page.
- Maintenance of your information on the site is done for you—all
you have to do is e-mail the webmaster here and it will be done.
- The webmaster has experience placing sites in free search engines
such as google.
- New features are added to the site to increase it's popularity and
exposure. Features are added if members request them.
- Members can help promote the site, if they want, by linking to it,
putting it on their e-mail lists to fans and on their printed schedules
and business cards, and by mentioning it at performances.
Background: The webmaster has doing the web site for
the  Colorado Bluegrass Music Society since 1999, and,
within 2 years, took it from a site which got less than 10 hits / month
to a site that gets over 20,000 hits / month. It has become THE internet
site for bluegrass music in Colorado and provides almost all the functions
listed here. More
