"History in the Making"

by Webmaster

I'm publicizing an event for people who are not members of AcousticByLines.

I'm doing it because I think it's a significant event and deserves to be publicized.

On Oct. 28, 2005, Patty Clayton and Bill Barwick will put on a concert at Swallow Hill, 71 E. Yale Ave in Denver. It starts at 8 p.m. They are calling the concert, 'The Best of the West'.

Patty is the Western Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year, starting November, 2004. Bill is the Academy of Western Artists Western Music Male Vocalist of the Year. He received his award in July, 2005.

Denver has never been 'home' to BOTH winners simultaneously. This is probably the first time, ever, that two different international organizations have recognized Western music vocalists living in the same city.

This is, indeed, history in the making and I plan to be there for it. I hope you'll be there, too.

Thanks for visiting Acoustic By Lines.

On a much sadder note, I'm including an e-mail from Jon Chandler:

Dear friends:
Many of you may have heard the tragic news of Sean Blackburn's death. It's my understanding Sean had a heart attack, and I'm waiting on word concerning services/memorials, etc. Sean and his musical partner Liz Masterson brought Western music into the forefront in so many areas, and I'm sure Liz is in shock. For those who didn't know Sean, he was one of the funniest people in the world, and was an exceptional picker and singer. I'll miss him, as will all of his friends in the world of Western music.
Jon
